AFL $60,000+ LIONS V GIANTS
As with any game involving GWS, this contest will be all about picking those 1-2 low owned guys and hoping they smash it.
Going to be a perfect evening for footy at the Gabba so expect a high-scoring DFS affair here with the prime movers all scoring well.
In Giants and Lions games this season it has often been a case of just eating the major midfield chalk and planting your flag in a couple of obscure selections elsewhere. That’s the plan tonight anyway.
But that’s not how we’re setting up tonight, going for a different strategy to hopefully go deep into the cash line!
Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for tonight’s Lions v Giants game.
FORWARD
Cam Rayner ($7,240): Back to back 70’s will mean he is probably the highest owned played on the slate. I don’t mind fading him because of that, because he will be 65-70% you’d expect, but don’t completely leave him out. Be a brave fade. Goes in here on price and form.
Brent Daniels ($9,680): Daniels has missed 8 shots on goal in his last 5 games and is still averaging 70. He is tackling and finding enough footy to have a relatively safe floor. Not loving the price bump but he can have a 10x game here if he kicks straight in front of the big sticks.
MIDFIELD
Lachie Neale ($13,970): This team is being built around Zorko copping the De Boer tag. if he doesn’t, it’s in trouble. If he does, Neale will have a monster.
Jacob Hopper ($13,880): He is the Giants engine room and is still cheap. Always scores well sans Coniglio. First man picked.
Jarod Berry ($10,900): I’m hoping that Berry’s improvement continues as i think he could be a real POD play tonight. Both inside and outside game, tackles and can sneak a goal. Would love a big 100+ game in a position where so many will go 3 guns and a cheapy.
Hugh McCluggage ($12,920): With no Robinson i can see McCluggage having a ceiling game. Big work rate. Goes well.
DEFENDERS
Heath Shaw ($11,340): The veteran defender loves games like these. People will flock to Hodge and Whitfield but i think Shaw and Rich will both be used a lot tonight to set up play.
Daniel Rich ($11,730): Not taking a cheapy in this spot means Rich has to have a big 90+ game for this side to compete. He is capable and will be really low-owned.
RUCK
Shane Mumford ($8,320): Price play here. Can’t get to Martin at his salary. Mummy needs a 70 to hit relative value – may even do it with a 60.
