BBL08 GAME 56: STARS V SIXERS
We’ve gone balance here and I’m going back to the Maxy-well in the hope that he finally puts a big game together
The Re-cap
Finally back amongst the cash with two solid cashes yesterday though not the huge win we were chasing. Last game of the regular season this afternoon, time to finish strong!
Likely XI’s
Game 56: Stars v Sixers @ MCG
Stars – Dunk, Stoinis, Handscomb, Maxwell, Maddinson, Gotch, Bravo, Bird, Zampa, Worrall, Lamichane, (Gulbis, Coleman)
- Expect the Stars will be unchanged. They had an absolute shocker in Brisbane but also ran into a red hot Ben Cutting. Worrall can swing the ball and could easily have had Bryant early last game.
Sixers – Phillipe, Hughes, Vince, Henriques, Silk, Edwards, Curran, Abbott, Lyon, O’Keefe, Dwarsius, (M. Edwards, Pope)
- Nathan Lyon makes a strong squad even stronger, with 16 absolute quality overs of bowling available (no, Abbott doesn’t count and may never count!)
Selection Committee
Two really good sides on paper, both capable of choking massively! It is not a bad strategy taking three sides into this and stacking each team then going balance for the third lineup. We’ve gone balance here and I’m going back to the Maxy-well in the hope that he finally puts a big game together. Hoping he is really low owned tonight with people paying up for Stoinis who I’m more than happy to fade at that price against probably the best bowling lineup we’ve seen in the Big Bash so far this season.
Team: Vince, Maxwell, Handscombe, Henriques, Lyon, Bird, Dwarsius
Final Thoughts
You can make really good team stacks here with Silk and Gotch the cheap players from the non-stacked side. These two teams can capitulate so stacks are a solid option, but there is so much quality here that a balanced team made the most sense to me. I expect 3-4 of our side to be sub 20% so if we fire as a team tonight we’re going all the way. See you in the finals!
