Here is a team you may consider for the BBL $10k+ Heat v Renegades competition:

Wicketkeeper

Brendon McCullum (18,500)

After having a night off due to suspension, McCullum comes back into the lineup and will be keen to tee off. McCullum has blasted thirteen sixes so far in BBL06, only once not hitting a six in a match. His ultra aggressive style has transformed the Heat from chumps to legitimate finals contenders. McCullum is without his ‘Bash Brother’ Chris Lynn so he will look to play the lead aggressor role, something which may see him rack up a huge score.

Batsmen

Sam Heazlett ($8,000)

Heazlett has come into the Heat lineup for the last two matches to replace Lynn and has really impressed with his batting. In his last match against the stars, Heazlett blasted 39 off 27 in what turned out to be a low scoring game. His controlled aggression at the top of the order laid the foundation for an easy Heat win. He will drop down the order to number 3 to accommodate the returning McCullum, but should still have a great opportunity to get a good score.

Tom Cooper ($15,100)

Tom Cooper has been brilliant in the back half of the season for the Renegades. He has found his role as opening bowler as well as a slogger in the death overs. Cooper has been racking up big scores in recent games, averaging 111 DS points in his past three matches. He has also hit four sixes in that time, meaning that he will be good for everyone participating in Clear the Fence.

Bowlers

Sunil Narine ($17,600)

Narine has been super consistent in a super inconsistent Renegades outfit. He has taken 11 wickets across the tournament with an economy rate just over 7.5 ruins per over. That is a great return for someone who has been in a struggling team. Even though the experiment with him at the top of the order seems to have finished, he is still a good chance of getting a big score with his bowling.

Chris Tremain ($11,050)

With a question mark over Pattinson, it may be a good idea to look at his likely replacement, Chris Tremain. Tremain was fantastic in his first match, before having three poor matches after that. He bowls fast and in good areas, which is what the Renegades have been lacking in their last couple of games when they have conceded 171, 223 and 165. If Tremain does not make the final XI, look for whoever replaces Tymal Mills for the Heat, wither Josh Lalor or Nick Buchanan.

Allrounder

Thisara Perera ($19,550)

After coming in to the Renegades squad to replace the injured Dwayne Bravo, Perera has done a great job in his three matches to date. He has six wickets, including four in his last match, but he has not really fired with the bat as of yet. He averages 86 DS points which is a pretty good for an allrounder and there is no reason why he cannot do something similar in this match.

Flex

Alex Ross ($9,650)

After a bit of a midseason slump, Ross has fired back in his last two matches, scoring 39 and 46 runs. He was brilliant in the Heat’s last match against the stars, leading the Heat to victory. Ross bats at number four, meaning he can play himself in before accelerating in his customary fashion. He is a brilliant sweeper of the ball, which negates the Renegade’s weapon of Narine and Hogg. At a cheap salary, he is a good fit in the flex position.
