AFL ANZAC DAY $50,000+ BOMBERS V MAGPIES
Coaches have myriad build options in every position – boldness is needed to take down this ANZAC Day $50k.
We’ve pretty much nailed when to Grundy and when not to this season so far, and today we are all in on the big marn to absolutely towel Bellchambers.
So naturally, from there, salary starts to impact selection.Fading the big-name midfielders in favour of four guys who wehope will get close to value is a strategy that has worked this season.
Just ask last night’s winner (and 2nd place getter!) Chriseddy999 who heldthe line in the mids and went with a Gawn/Houli/Vlastuin build – spending up in your defence and forward line is a sure fire way to have your team stand out which gives it a good chance of going really deep if your players fire.
Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for this ANZAC Day clash.
FORWARD
Jordan De Goey ($10,960): The trick here is to take players who like it contested but can also score when it opens up in the second half. De Goey fits the bill and comes in well price. Will be probably 50% owned.
Jayden Stephensen ($9,400): Liked what i’ve seen from the Stevenator so far in 2019. Has been horribly unlucky in a few games not to have kicked a few more goals and is always free for a short option. Good ownership i expect today with plenty of the field opting for JDG and Smith.
MIDFIELD
Scott Pendlebury ($12,620):You ca’t go too wrong taking the Collingwood captain on ANZAC Day. Bit of a free selection here. 90pt floor.
Levi Greenwood ($9,200):If he tags Merrett then he won’t score that well but there is a good chance he could absorb a lot of the Mayne/Aish role across half back for large parts of the match too. Worth the punt for mine at low ownership.
Andrew McGrath ($10,250):If you have the mulah to pay up slightly then i’d take Myers are what would be 4-5% ownership but McGrath is who we can afford so lets get around him people! In all honesty I dont think he has a fantasy ceiling higher than 90 so if he can return us 80-90pts we will take that all day.
Matt Guelfi ($7,560):Got more midfield minutes last game which wont be there today but he is playing for his place in this side so expect work rate. Has a great tank. Could junk late for a value game.
DEFENDERS
Jack Crisp ($12,510):Love Crispy here. paying up for his ceiling is a large pillar of this build. Come on a big 140+!
Cale Hooker ($10,630):So consistent down back. hasnt laid a tackle in 2 games and still averaging 94pts. Will get plenty of chances to outmark the less experienced Cox/Mihocek.
RUCK
Brodie Grundy ($16,680):Big risk today. If you miss on Grundy, then Roughy is my play and I won’t be straying too far from those two ruck options. If Grundy can get his tackling going early and his running game going late he has 150+ in him. Capable of beating Belly by 75-100pts here on his best day.
