AFL FRIDAY $30,000+ ROOS V BOMBERS
In a game featuring two decidedly unbalanced sides, we’ve opted to ride for luck and take a balanced lineup.
Two of the most inconsistent fantasy teams in the comp face off at Marvel this afternoon for the Good Friday fixture – this game is a dfs coaches nightmare.
Devon Smith comes out for the Bombers which does bump the remaining Essendon midfield studs but getting to them, whilst still having a balanced lineup, is nigh impossible.
As it often does it starts in the ruck for mine where many coaches will simply take Zac Clarke and accept a 40-50pt return. This is where we are going to try and get some leverage right away on the field by taking big Goldy.
Here is my team you can consider using, or building around, for the Kangaroos v Bombers $30,000 contest
FORWARD
Mitch Brown ($11,090):Loved what I saw from the newest swingman in the comp in Browny who racked up marks and disposals at will against the Lions for a very rare career triple double. There is no reason why he can’t repeat here and i’m chasing the points before the salary cappers really clamp him.
Shaun Atley ($10,630):Playing majority of his game time in defence this season and with no Luke McDonald today, Atley needs to play a game. Can hit 10x value here and may get overlooked by coaches who have stacked their midfield and had to pay down in the forward line.
MIDFIELD
Darcy Parish ($11,290): Becoming a very consistent contributor averaging 80+ in 3 starts this season. That’s a solid floor if you are looking for a midfielder to pay down for which we very much are. Possibly a 5-15pt bump in Devon Smith’s absence and it’s easy to get behind Parish for a solid 90pt return at a great price.
Jared Polec ($13,000):Super consistent for his new club with four games in that 85-95pt range. Plenty will miss him here given the price tag but I suspect that Polec tons up here with a big 30+ game. Is awkardly priced in that mid tier and I think that will see him go under-owned.
Andrew McGrath ($10.650): For all the same reasons that we’re picking Parish, McGrath goes straight in. It’s that combination of wanting exposure to the Essendon midfield, a little Smith bump and having no salary cap to pay up for the guns. It’s a forced selection in many ways but one i’m happy to have, like him for an 80-90pts game today.
Paul Ahern ($9,520): Did not produce first-up returning just 60pts but he is capable of much better and for under 10k I’m happy to take a chance on Ahern for a 75-80pt game.
DEFENDERS
Jasper Pittard ($11,820): We’ve targeted the North Melbourne half back line as an area where we could see some good positive correlation with Pittard and Atley. Has cleared the ton last two starts so will be chalky but I’m going back there.
Jordan Ridley ($8,320): Love this kid. 17 disposals and 9 marks last week for Ridley who will be racking them up in defence distributing into the midfield. Great price, has the 11-12x ceiling.
RUCK
Todd Goldstein ($13,530): Point of difference play here at what will hopefully be 15-20% ownership. Capable of putting 50-75pts on the other two ruck options.
