Defenders

Sam Docherty – Carlton – $16,500

With scores of 108 and 119 points interstate already in 2017, another similar score is almost a certainty for Docherty this week against Gold Coast. Docherty is the premier scoring defender in the AFL, dropping below 100 points just twice, which included scoring 90 and 96 points.

Dylan Roberton – St Kilda – $12,950

Scoring 100+ points in 50% of games at Etihad Stadium this season, Roberton presents tremendous value in Draftstars this week. With the Saints expected to get back on the winners list against the Kangaroos, Roberton ranks equal-second at the club for points per game in wins (107).

Pearce Hanley – Gold Coast Suns – $11,300

A permanent move into defence since returning from a long layoff brings Hanley into the Draftstars mix this round. He dominated in his last game at Metricon Stadium in Round 11, finishing with 31 disposals, 12 marks and 121 points. He should be among the points again this week against the Blues.

Midfielders

Gary Ablett – Gold Coast Suns – $17,500

After being publicly criticised for his laconic display in Round 2, Ablett has silenced those critics since, averaging 35 disposals which ranks No.1 in the AFL over that period. He has been a solid contributor in his past two games against Carlton at Metricon Stadium, scoring 114 and 124 points in that order.

Dan Hannebery – Sydney Swans – $16,050

Hannebery has sparked Sydney and led the Swans for points scored since they registered their first win of the season in Round 7 – scoring 82 more points than any teammate. Only Josh Kelly has scored more points in wins than Hannebery over these rounds, averaging 124.

Seb Ross – St Kilda – $15,000

Ross has been the standout player in St Kilda wins in 2017, averaging 107 points – ranked equal-second at the club. Scoring 100+ points in three of the five wins, his lowest score is just 88 points. Ross was one of very few winners in last week’s heavy defeat to Adelaide, scoring an equal team-high 113 points.

Jake Lloyd – Sydney Swans – $12,000

Jake Lloyd ranks third in the competition for points scored in wins since Round 7, averaging 112. He personifies consistency, reaching at least 23 disposals in each of his full games across the year, racking up 30+ in five games. Lloyd finished with 32 disposals in his only other match at the MCG.

Forwards

Nick Riewoldt – St Kilda – $13,400

Nick Riewoldt should return from a knee injury this Friday night in what will be his first appearance since Round 8. He should be refreshed after the layoff, boasting an average of 106 points against the Kangaroos at Etihad Stadium since 2013 – ranked No.1 at the club. Riewoldt scored 144 and 87 points from his two games there last year.

Ruck/Forward

Toby Nankervis – Richmond – $12,150

Nankervis will be looking forward to facing his old team this Saturday at the MCG. He has been a revelation as the No.1 ruckman this season, recording 32 intercept possessions – the most of any ruckman in the AFL. Nankervis is averaging 15 disposals and 27 hitouts at the MCG this year.

Rucks

Matthew Kreuzer – Carlton – $15,750

Kreuzer celebrated his 150th AFL match in style last round after piling on 149 points against GWS Giants – ranked equal-fourth for the round. He had the better of the dual against Shane Mumford, finishing with 21 disposals, eight tackles, one goal and 33 hitouts.
