Looking to bolster your own line-up? Here’s a few best buys to consider.

Defender

Bachar Houli – Richmond – $15,200

Houli returns from a four-game suspension this round as the Tigers prepare for the Suns at Metricon Stadium. He should hit the ground running, boasting scores of 127 and 110 in two of his four career games against Gold Coast, with the latter coming in his most recent match in 2015.

Michael Hibberd – Melbourne – $13,350

Hibberd is coming off a season-high 129 points last round against Port Adelaide. He will be looking to reach 100 points in three consecutive games for the first time this season this round against North Melbourne, finishing with 106 points when the sides last met in Round 9.

Jeremy Howe – Collingwood – $11,950

Four of Howe’s six scores over 100 points this season have been recorded at the MCG, which includes a season-high haul of 125 points in Round 9. When he last faced an interstate side at the venue in Round 14 (Port Adelaide) – he helped himself to 118 points. He’s smart choice in Draftstars this week.

Midfielders

Gary Ablett – Gold Coast Suns – $16,450

With scores of 141 and 120 points in that order from his past two games against Richmond, it’s hard to overlook Ablett this round if he makes a return from injury. His past three matches this season have all been at Metricon Stadium, returning scores of 91, 127 and 152 points.

Jack Macrae – Western Bulldogs – $15,000

Macrae ranks second at the club for points scored at Etihad Stadium in 2017, averaging 99 from his eight matches. He has only played two career games against this week’s opponent Essendon, returning scores of 108 and 106 points respectively. Macrae is a safe fantasy option this week.

Josh P. Kennedy – Sydney Swans – $14,850

It’s quite fitting that Kennedy plays his 200th AFL match against former side Hawthorn on Friday night. He has relished playing the Hawks since moving to Sydney in 2010, averaging 29 disposals, six tackles and 103 points from 18 games. Kennedy finished with 112 points when the sides last met in Round 10.

Midfielder/Forward

Dustin Martin – Richmond – $15,900

With Richmond expected to win comfortably against Gold Coast this round, the name Martin should be atop of your Draftstars wish list. He has averaged 34 disposals and 128 points in the past seven wins he has played in, ranked sixth in the competition. Expect a decent point haul from Martin this round.

Forwards

Lance Franklin – Sydney Swans – $14,050

Like Josh P. Kennedy, Franklin always finds something extra when he faces former side Hawthorn. When the sides last met in Round 10, he finished with 16 disposals, six marks, five goals and 99 points. Franklin has scored an inaccurate 20.21 from eight career games against the Hawks.

Robbie Gray – Port Adelaide – $13,200

Gray has monstered sides outside the top eight this season, booting a combined 30 goals from 10 games, compared to just 10 goals from seven matches against teams inside the top eight. Facing St Kilda this round, he attended 15 centre bounces last round, his most since Round 7. A return to the midfield is a possibility.

Rucks

Matthew Kreuzer – Carlton – $14,100

Kreuzer is the only ruckman in the AFL we can rely on at this stage of the season, scoring 90 more points than any other player since Round 12. His two biggest scores in 2017 have both been at Etihad Stadium, collecting 132 and 149 points in consecutive weeks mid-year.
