The Late Cut: NBA $4,000 Wednesday

james-harden

A relatively small day of NBA lays ahead of us, with just the three matches to be played. With the smaller number of games, it is extra important to nail your lineup. The most obvious play is to lock star player James Harden into your lineup and build around that. Draftstars will be running a $4,000 game for today’s NBA.

Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $4k+ Wednesday competition

Point Guard

James Harden ($23,300)

What can you say about Harden that has not already been said? “The Beard” is in MVP form, often singlehandedly carrying his Houston Rockets to playoff contenders. Whilst he does have the rare off night, he can also explode. He is the only player to break the magical 100 DS point mark and to prove it was no fluke, he has another score of 97 DS points.

Yogi Ferrell ($7,150)

Sometimes, all anyone needs is an opportunity. Ferrell was playing D-League ball little more than a month ago, now he is a starting Point Guard, and he is balling out. Ferrell has scored 30 DS points in three of his last four matches. With regular starter Deron Williams nearly back from injury, Ferrell needs to keep playing well to preserve his minutes, which he can do here against the defensively poor Trail Blazers.

Shooting Guard

C.J. McCollum ($13,350)

With fellow guard Damian Lillard under an injury cloud, it could be a case of all the Trail Blazer offence going through McCollum in this matchup. McCollum has enjoyed extra responsibility this year, he has improved his points per game from 20 to over 23. Back him here to continue hi good form with a big game.

Randy Foye ($5,000)

Foye will be starting for the Nets against the Hornets in today’s match. Finding a ceap starter like Foye allows you to spend big on other players (namely Harden). If Foye can return somewhere around the 15-20 point mark, that is enough to set your team up for a good score.

Small Forward

Evan Fournier ($11,350)

Fournier was a little bit quiet in his last match against the Hawks in his last match, but he should be able to bounce back in this matchup. Fournier’s Magic take on the Rockets who usually feature in shootouts, which means that if Fournier can get into a rhythm, he has the potential to score big.

Nicholas Batum ($14,350)

Batum’s Hornets take on the Knicks in what should be an easy victory for them. The Knicks are notorious for conceding a lot of points, which is why Batum gets into the lineup. Batum gets DS points through his rebounding, scoring and assisting, which means that he will usually rack up consistent big scores. He can do that here in this game.

Power Forward

Clint Capela ($11,200)

The Houston big man has been in decent form recently, averaging 27 DS points across his last six matches. Capela has recorded at least nine rebounds in his last three matches, and is starting to find the basket consistently as well. Capela has played over 30 minutes in his last two matches, which is a big increase from his average of 23 minutes, back him here to convert his extra minutes to extra points.

Noah Vonleh ($5,000)

Vonleh has recently been added to the Trail Blazers starting lineup and that has coincided with an upswing in form by the streaky team. Vonleh is a good rebounder, but doesn’t get many opportunities to score points, but that might change if Lillard does not take his place in this game.

Centre

Frank Kaminsky ($8,050)

With regular starter Cody Zeller unlikely to play, Kaminsky is added to the starting lineup against the Nets. The former high draft pick has started to show some of the signs that he belongs in this league. Two matches ago he dropped 24 points against Golden State, along with 7 rebounds. Kaminsky can dominate the boards in this game against the streaky Brook Lopez who has struggled of late.
