Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $6k+ Wednesday competition

Point Guard

Damian Lillard ($16,050)

Lillard and the Blazers have been flying recently, winning three in a row before narrowly going down to the Warriors. Lillard was very quiet in that match, being shut out of it by a determined Klay Thompson. Look for Lillard to bounce back here and continue his post “All-Star Snub” form, which has seen him average over 38 DS points per game.

Kyle Lowry ($14,550)

The poor recent form of the Raptors has not been enough to stop Lowry from balling out. In his last three matches, Lowry has been averaging 31p/4r/7a which equates to over 50 DS points. Lowry’s Raptors take on the inconsistent Pelicans, who concede large numbers of points regularly. This looks like a day out for Lowry.

Shooting Guard

Solomon Hill ($6,650)

Hill represents decent value at the shooting guard position. He will most likely start the game, which means that his minutes will be high, giving him an opportunity to score big. He has been averaging 28 DS points over his last three matches which is over 4 times his salary. At a low salary he also gives you the ability to spend more in other positions.

Garrett Temple ($7,000)

Temple has been solid since his inclusion into the Sacramento starting lineup, when he replaced Rudy Gay. The Kings have struggled to replace Gay, and they desperately need someone to stand up and help out Demarcus Cousins. Hopefully, Temple is the man to do it.

Small Forward

Nick Young ($7,450)

Swaggy P has been up and down recently, much like his Lakers but he has a favourable match up against the Nuggets. Young’s stats are considerably better at home where he averages an extra point and rebound. It may not seem like much, but that could be the difference between your lineup being in the money or not. In his last match up against the Nuggets, Young scored 22 points on his way to 33.5 DS points. He is a streaky player who is well worth a punt at his salary.

Evan Turner ($8,500)

Turner finally showed why he was paid the big bucks by the Trail Blazers in the offseason, returning 32.75 DS points in their last match against the Warriors. Turner offers production in all three areas of scoring, he has returned double digits in scoring, rebounds and assists on at least one occasion this season.

Power Forward

Carmelo Anthony ($16,100)

Melo has put his head down and gone to work since the trade rumours have surfaced, averaging just under 45 DS points per game in his last six matches, scoring over 50 DS points in three of them. He put up 45 points in his last match before fouling out in overtime, sending a message to the rest of the league that he is still a force to be reckoned with. Anthony with a chip on his shoulder is still a top 15 players in the league, so back him to keep his hot streak rolling.

Markieff Morris ($12,600)

Morris will be Carmelo Anthony’s direct opponent in his upcoming match, it may seem strange to put both of them in your lineup, but both players offer good offensive production and are defensively limited. Morris’ strength is his rebounding, where he averages over 8 rebounds per game in January. The Knicks offense is not particularly efficient, which means that there will be a lot of boards on offer for Morris to snare, making him a good pick.

Centre

Steven Adams ($10,700)

Adams is set for a big month ahead. He is back fully fit after missing some time due to injury and he is no longer competing for minutes with Enes Kanter who comically broke his hand. Adams comes up against the Spurs minus their star centre Pau Gasol. The Thunder have been struggling lately and need other avenues to the basket to supplement Westbrook. Adams is the guy who can provide that for them.
