The Late Cut: NBA $7,000 Tuesday
The NBA is now the number one game in town with the completion of the NFL season. To celebrate there is a massive eleven matches to choose from for today’s NBA game on Draftstars. The highlight of the day’s matches is a clash between two of the most recognizable teams in the league with the Lakers travelling to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks.
Saturday’s Score: 208
Here is a team you may consider for the NBA $7k+ Tuesday competition
Point Guard
D’Angelo Russell ($10,900)
Russell has come back from a calf injury like a new player. He has had three matches back and has recorded Draftstars scores of 49.75, 47.5 and 38.5. Russell can easily continue his recent good form against the Knicks, who may be without their preferred Point Guard, Derrick Rose. Russell has a high points ceiling, and comes at a relatively cheap salary, look for him to continue his hot form.
Yogi Ferrell ($7,150)
Yogi has been rewarded for his recently form with a two year contract extension. A month ago, he was playing in the NBA Development league, now he is a starter in a resurgent Mavericks team. Ferrell was excellent in his last match, scoring 32 points on his way to 48.25 DS points. Hopefully his production doesn’t drop off with his extra job security, but he’s still cheap enough salary wise for him to be a relatively safe inclusion.
Shooting Guard
Devin Booker ($12,000)
Booker has been super consistent for the inconsistent Suns over the last month or so, scoring over 20 point in each of his last sixteen matches. That’s the longest run by a rookie or second year player since Blake Griffin had 20 games in a row in 2010. Booker’s Suns take on the Pelicans, so it is very likely that the game will be a shootout, which means that is should be easy for Booker keep his streak rolling.
Joe Ingles ($5,400)
Aussie Joe will be starting in today’s match with the injury to Rodney Hood. Ingles has been playing great off the bench for the Jazz, and now gets an opportunity to showcase his skills over more minutes. Ingles has been lethal from long range this season where he is ranked in the top ten for 3-point shooting efficiency. At a salary of $5,400, he should easily return a score in the 20s, which should set your team up for a big score.
Small Forward
LeBron James ($20,350)
With so many good cheap options in today’s matches, it allows us to splurge on one of the best players in the game. James has been sizzling lately, carrying his underperforming team. Over his last seven matches he is averaging 55.8 DS points, recording two triple-doubles in that period. There is a question mark over Kyrie Irving’s availability, which means that James should be even more prominent in the game, watch for a big game from the King.
Dion Waiters ($11,850)
Waiters has been balling out lately and it has translated into team performance with the Heat winning 10 matches in a row. Waiters’ strength over that run has been his efficiency from the field, as well as his increased number of assists he is dishing out. Waiters has topped 40 points in six of his last eight matches, he can easily do that again against the depleted Timberwolves.
Power Forward
Nikola Jokic ($16,300)
Although he is under a slight injury cloud, Jokic should take his place in the starting lineup with no restriction of minutes. Aside from his last match where he was limited to 15 minutes, Jokic has been dominant so far in 2017, averaging 47.7 DS points. He has had multiple matches over 60 DS points in that period, which means he can score big.
Kyle O’Quinn ($7,200)
With the injury to starting centre Joachim Noah, O’Quinn will get the start against the Cavs. O’Quinn has been good, albeit with limited opportunities this season for the Knicks, scoring voer 40 DS points on multiple occasions. With the extra minutes he will receive in this match, he is a good value pick.
Centre
Dewayne Dedmon ($5,700)
The Spurs have announced that Dedmon will start, replacing Davis Bertans for matchup reasons. Dedmon has been good since the Spurs’ first choice centre, Pau Gasol, injured his finger. Dedmon has been in good form, getting plenty of rebounds and he comes up against Memphis centre Marc Gasol, who is not a dominant rebounder. It looks like a solid matchup for Dedmon, who should return a good score.
