PGA $10,000+ THE MEMORIAL

After a brutal week in Texas the PGA rolls onto Ohio for one of my favourite non-major tournaments of the season – The Memorial.

There is going to be rain on and off all day on Thursday which means coaches will need to really make sure they are factoring in tee times and what conditions look best.

If the showers and forecast Thunderstorms can stay away it looks like there could be a slight advantage early doors with almost no wind in the early morning so that’s a time slot this team is looking to target but I cannot stress enough, check the weather prior to locking in your lineups.

We’re stacking one of the early marquee tee times taking three big guns all teeing off the back nine at 8am. I like all three of these guys for different reasons and having three guns in my team that i will get to watch play every shot is a big plus too!

Select your team for the $10,000+ Memorial Contest now!

Jordan Spieth ($18,620): The putter has been absolutely lights out amazing which will give Spieth plenty of confidence going into a course that is a little bit forgiving off the tee with bigger fairways that don’t demand massive length. Will be super low owned as well. Keep those 50fters coming Jordy!

Rory McIlroy($22,250): Daylight is second behind Rory i terms of the best players in this field. If he plays well, he wins. It really is that simple. I expect Tiger to garner the greater ownership here being just below Rory and with amazing course history, but until i see Tiger’s putter start heating up ill be happy to fade him and take the best guy in the field.

Justin Thomas ($18,720): Speaking of low ownership, JT has been out for a few weeks now which will dent his ownership with coaches unsure of what kind of form he will be in first up. Most likely he is wanting a warm-up prior to the US Open but he is a good enough player to take a risk on first up at that price and with what should be single digit ownership. T8 here last year so the course history is positive.

Lucas Glover ($15,500): Can’t find a knock on him at the moment. Ranked #19 SG: Approach in this field (last 50 rounds), #12 Around the Greens and #10 Tee to Green. Made his last 3 cuts at this course last three years and is just playing very solid golf. Should be another who a lot of people miss in pursuit of scubs/duds lineups. Early tee time too.

Russell Knox ($13,280): A T8 at the Charles Schwab last week in Texas says to me he is in form, made last four cuts here and is ranked #15 SG Approach in this field. Loves his irons particularly the longer ones that could prove crucial at this course as guys club down off the tee. Never seems to be popular either and gets an early tee time. All ticks for me.

Corey Conners ($11,480): Talk about a ball-striking iron player who is in form – Conner is ranked #12 in this field SG Approach, #9 Tee to Green and #6 SG: Off the Tee. His putter has been woeful (ranked #108 i field last 50 rounds) and he has not played here at Memorial before but down at this price range one can’t be too fussy and his ball striking (along with the early tee off) gets him into the team.
