Fox Sports: NFL Week 10 Best Buys

Fox Sports LogoFox Sports Week 10 Best BuysTHE Bears and David Johnson are the big ticket items on Draftstars’ Week 10 retail rack.

But not all the Best Buys are the obvious matchup alternatives.

Take Falcons QB Matt Ryan, for example.

Fox Fantasy analyst Phil Prior sits down with in-house NFL guru Laurie Horesh, breaking down the Week 10 match-ups, best plays and stay-aways.

QUARTERBACK

Matt Ryan, ATL ($16,550)

Philadelphia’s defence may be enough to scare some owners away, but the Falcons QB has been matchup-proof this year, able to march the ball downfield on the likes of Seattle and Denver. As the Eagles struggle with injuries to key starters, enjoy the drop in ownership percentage without a drop in production.

Fox Sports Week 10 Best Buys
Jay Cutler, CHI ($11,300)

If you fancy saving your hard-earned in this slot, fire up Smokin’ Jay against Tampa Bay’s suspect pass D. Expect plenty of points in this contest, and Jay Cutler to add a handy box score to his free agency portfolio after picking apart Minnesota last start.

RUNNING BACK

David Johnson, ARI ($21,100)

Sometimes the chalk play is the right play, especially with the 49ers in town. Having given up over 170 yards rushing in five straight games (first team to do it in 18 years), DJ could top the 30 point mark, meriting the big ticket price against the league’s worst run defence.

Fox Sports Week 10 Best Buys
Jordan Howard, ARI ($11,300)

With a stranglehold on the Bear’s three-down role at the season’s midway point, the rookie out of Indiana will be heavily featured in an offence-heavy meeting against Tampa Bay, at just half the price of Johnson above.

WIDE RECEIVER

Alshon Jeffery, CHI (12,450)

While we’re on Bears to bump into your lineup, Alshon Jeffrey returned to the end zone last week and his downfield ability is only aided by the return of Cutler’s cannon. Expect a splash-play showdown between Jeffrey and his Buccaneers counterpart Mike Evans ($15,400) across the field.

Fox Sports Week 10 Best Buys
Tyrell Williams, SD ($10,150)

Miami ranked 26th vs. opposing #1 receivers, and Tyrell Williams has emerged from Keenan Allen’s wake into exactly that. With the size to continually attract deep and red zone looks from Phil Rivers, the breakout Charger could break free against the Dolphins.

Cole Beasley, DAL ($9,500)

The Steelers have given up big PPR days to Jarvis Landry and Julian Edelman in recent weeks, and Beasley fits the slot receiver mould to well outperform his game day price. Note that Dak Prescott has chosen to use the heavy red zone coverage on Dez Bryant to other’s benefit, with #11 front of the line.

TIGHT END

Jordan Reed, WAS ($11,400)

Minnesota are giving up more than eight catches a game to the position, and Reed appeared in barnstorming form before the bye. Ignore the name and look at the numbers, the Washington midfield nightmare is in for a game-winning Week 10.

C.J. Fiedorowicz, HOU ($5,250)

Keep cashing seven targets a game for close to bottom dollar and thank the Draftstars Gods later. Jacksonville has softened against tight ends in the past few weeks as ‘The Fedora’ continues to blossom in Brock Osweiler’s short passing attack.

DEFENCE/ST

Rams ($7,200) @ Jets

With prices a little higher across the defensive menu, keep it simple with the talented Rams front against the beat-up and struggling Jets.
