NFL Colts @ Jets Tuesday Football Best Buys
Week 13 is rounded out with a Monday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts in an affair likely to be dominated on offense. With both team struggling to contain opposition teams on the scoreboard, it’s likely we’ll see a high scoring matchup which is all the more beneficial for the Draftstars $1.25k Colts @ Jets Monday Night Football contest.

Quarterback
Ryan Fitzpatrick ($16,700)
Fitzpatrick faces a favourable matchup against the Colts in Week 13 and at a cheaper price than Andrew Luck, it’s hard to pass by him. After a rocky start to the season, Fitzpatrick threw two touchdowns last week and is again finding a solid rhythm with his receivers. Indianapolis’ defence which ranks in the bottom third in the league for both passing yards and touchdowns allowed, which suggest Fitzpatrick could pile up the points again this week.
Running Back
Frank Gore ($11,050)
After producing his worst performance of the season, 4.10 points against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Gore simply has to return to his best this week. He’s averaging a touch over 16 carries per game which across the last three weeks, increased to 17.3. With the return of Andrew Luck from the concussion protocol this week, the Colts are still likely to lean on Gore for the majority of production beyond the redzone against a Jets defence which has allowed the 14th most points to the running back position.
Robert Turbin ($6,000)
While it’s highly unlikely that Turbin will see copious snaps this week – having just ten carries over the past five weeks, his influence in the Colts offense has continually increased as the season’s draws on. Against Pittsburgh last week, Turbin was the favourable running back in the red zone and averaged 10 yards per carry. He’s also a much cheaper option than Jets’ second string running back Bilal Powell making him a better fit for the roster.
Wide Receiver
Brandon Marshall ($16,050)
Marshall broke his end zone drought last week, scoring his first touchdown since Week 5 inflating his score to 18.70. He’s every chance to haul a score in again against the Colts defence which has allowed 22 pass touchdowns this year, including three to Steelers’ number one receiver Antonio Brown.
Donte Moncrief ($15,900)
Since his return from injury in late October, Moncrief has hauled in a touchdown in each of his last four games whilst being targeted an average of 8.25 times in that span. His scores are heavily reliant on touchdowns with a season high of just 65 receiving yards in a game, but in a pass heavy offense spearheaded by Andrew Luck, Moncrief’s stock could continue to rise.
Tight End
Dwayne Allen ($8,950)
Both New York and Indianapolis don’t exploit their wide receivers in the passing game like many other teams, meaning it’s slim pickings for the position this week. Jets’ tight ends have combined for less than 60 yards this season, and so Dwayne Allen gets the nod over his more expensive teammate Jack Doyle. Last week, five catches for 49 yards was his most productive game since week five so there’s hope Allen can continue some form of production this week.
Flex
Quincy Enunwa ($13,550)
Like Marshall above, Enunwa faces an enticing matchup against the Colts who leak touchdowns on defence, however Jets’ number two receiver has been far more consistent than his teammate this season. Last week marked the first 100 yards game of Enunwa’s career, and could find more success this week against Indianapolis who rank 27th for pass yards allowed per game.
Charone Peake ($5,350)
Peake is used sporadically for the Jets, but when given the opportunity he can find yardage when required. He’s unlikely to score a great deal of points, but as a cheap option, he is among the best available. If the Jets’ start to struggle on offense, which they have done a lot this season, Peake could see an increase of snaps as the spark for the offense.
Defense
Indianapolis Colts ($6,300)
Defensively, neither team really excels. They’ve been the thorn in the Indianapolis team the whole season and New York have only eclipsed double fantasy figures once this season. Last week’s scores of 0.00 (New York), and -1.00 (Indianapolis) tells the whole story here. The Colts have gotten the nod here due to the fact that they’ve simply had more games in double digits than the Jets.
