NFL Week 14 $15,000 Monday Lineup Tips

The NFL season is truly heating up. This week has been huge with New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo getting sacked and Eli Manning being reinstated to starting QB. There was a bloodbath in the Steelers v the Bengals with multiple suspensions and injuries. Rob Gronkowski was rubbed out for a dirty hit. Minnesota is now the number one seed in the NFC, which is an incredible achievement seeing as their number one QB is out injured, and in good news, Aaron Rodgers is nearing a return from his broken collarbone. There are fourteen matches to choose your teams from, kick off is at 5.00am Monday morning AEDT.

Here are our value players for the NFL $15,000+ Monday competition

Quarterback

Marcus Mariota ($13,350)

The second year Quarterback has taken some big strides this season, leading his Titans to the top of their division with an eight win four loss season. Mariota is very mobile and is just as likely to run for a TD as he is to throw them. He gets a great match up against the Cardinals this week who have a very small chance of making the playoffs. Mariota should be able to carve up the cards and get a big score.

Running Back

LeSean McCoy ($14,200)

Shady has been somewhat subdued by his lofty standards in recent weeks, but that is most likely due to the dysfunction surrounding him on offense. The Bills have benched their incumbent starter for a guy who threw five interceptions in a half before going back to their starter, who then got injured. McCoy should be able to run the ball well against the Colts who have struggled on defence. He looks a good play today.

Running Back

Alfred Morris ($9,400)

With the suspension to Ezekiel Elliot, Morris has taken over the responsibility of the Cowboys number one Running Back. Morris ran for 127 yards last week and a TD in the Cowboys big win against the Redskins. Morris is still a great price for someone who will be getting a lot of touches as the Cowboys offense is set up around the running game.

Wide Receiver

A.J. Green ($14,600)

Green is coming off a monster game against the Steelers where he caught two TDs on his way to 26.7 DS points. Green is one of the best in the league and he is being targeted heavily by Bengal’s QB Andy Dalton, especially near the end zone. Green gets a great matchup against the Bears who are a decent defensive team, but have just been eliminated from playoff contention, meaning that they are officially in tank mode. Expect a big showing from Green.

Wide Receiver

Davante Adams ($13,000)

With star QB Aaron Rodgers still a week away from returning, this is the last week that playing Adams is a lock. Back up QBs often get the playbook simplified to the extent that they look at one option, and if it’s not open they take a “check-down” to their running back. Adams is the first option for the Packers and he gets targeted a lot by their back up QB Brett Hundley. They play the Browns this week who have a poor pass defense, meaning that Adams should be open a lot.

Tight End

Benjamin Watson ($7,450)

Watson is a wily veteran who has been a good receiving Tight End for over ten years. Whilst Baltimore’s passing offense has been lackluster this season, he gets a good matchup against the Steelers, whose best linebacker, Ryan Shazier, is out injured. Watson should be able to exploit the undermanned Steelers and score well.

Flex

Josh Gordon ($10,800)

Gordon made a strong return from suspension last week where he had four catches for 85 yards in the Browns loss to the Chargers. He could have caught for a lot more however as the Browns QB, DeShone Kizer missed Gordon on numerous deep throws. Gordons 85 yards is also the second most yards caught by a receiver against the Chargers all year. It was a great return. He lines up here against the Packers whose pass defence is not as strong. Look for him to make a statement and show the league that Flash Gordon is back.

Flex

Peyton Barber ($9,950)

Barber had a breakout game in his last match, running for over 100 yards on his way to 18.3 DS points. Barber was deputizing for Doug Martin who was concussed and is in doubt for this week’s game. The Bucs take on the Lions who are poor against the run. Barber should be able to run all over the Lions and deliver another big score.

Defense

Denver Broncos ($6,550)

The Broncos take on the Jets in what should be a slug fest between two poor teams. The Broncos are in free fall, but remarkably aren’t out of playoff contention, even with their 3 win 9 loss record. Their defence which is regarded as one of the best in the league has been torched a few times recently, but shouldn’t have much trouble containing the Jets. Jets QB Josh McCown is prone to turning the ball over as well. Look for the Broncos to be desperate to keep their season alive and win comfortably.
