NRL $2,000+ Storm v Warriors Line-Up
The Warriors will venture across the ditch to face the second-placed Storm in an Anzac Day blockbuster that will represent the two Anzac nations. The Storm are flying once again, but the Warriors can match their spine with the likes of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Kieran Foran and Shaun Johnson. This should make for a brilliant contest, with plenty of superstars to choose from when selecting your Draftstars team.
Here is a team you may consider for the NRL $2,000+ Storm v Warriors competition
Front Row Forward
Simon Mannering ($17,050)
The Warriors’ veteran has been in rare form recently and has been showing off the trademark work rate that has made him one of the best back-rowers in the league for the last decade. He leads the league in tackles made by non-hookers and has made 94 combined in the last two matches. He comes at a premium, but his tackling propensity and his running game mean that he will never let you down. Lock and load.
Sam Lisone ($7,250)
Lisone has been good again this season as an energy guy off the bench and has handled an increase in workload with aplomb. Playing around half a game, Lisone has been quite impactful with his hit ups, metres and tackling providing security for his backline. He’s consistently laying around 25 tackles, gaining nearly 100 metres and breaking tackles which makes for solid Draftstars scoring and a bargain buy at just over $7k.
Hooker
Cameron Smith ($19,450)
With Isaac Luke sharing hooking duties with Nathaniel Roache, Cam Smith is the obvious choice for this contest. The Storm captain has been a stalwart for salary cap teams over the years due to his consistently excellent scoring. This comes from his ability to fill the defensive and attacking stats with his huge tackling numbers and deft kicking and passing game. Pay the extra and lock in a great score from the future immortal.
Second Row Forward
Felise Kaufusi ($7,600)
To afford the likes of Mannering and Smith, there needs to be value options somewhere and the second-row is the place to find them in this contest. Kaufusi had been solid all season as an 80 minute back-rower, but really broke out last game with two line breaking runs resulting in two tries and 71.10 Draftstars points. Last week was the first real attacking prowess that Kaufusi had shown, but his defensive game has been excellent all season, including a 50 tackle and zero missed tackles performance two rounds ago. He’s cheap and he’s in good form, which makes Kaufusi a no-brainer for this contest.
Christian Welch ($6,500)
After being used as a starter intermittently early in the season, Welch has settled back into a bench role in the past two weeks. The tall, athletic forward is tough to stop once he gets going and has solid passing skills for a forward, a combination which makes him lethal off the bench. He’s also making more tackles than last season, which only means more points for Draftstars owners.
Centre
Will Chambers ($9,300)
Chambers has been deadly in recent weeks, showing off the form which has earned him multiple representative honours. The code-hopping centre has staked his claim for a potential second Kangaroos jersey, with some excellent attacking football to begin the season. After missing last week due to suspension, Chambers will be raring to go and will be wanting to attack the Warriors left-edge which has been shaky defensively in recent weeks.
Half
Shaun Johnson ($15,400)
There are superstars galore in the halves in this contest with Johnson, Cronk, Foran and Cam Munster all available. Ryley Jacks has been named to start and is cheap, but will likely see plenty of the bench if Cam Munster plays. As such, Johnson is the best option available due to his consistency in both wins and losses. His ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates is incredible and his kicking game is one of the best in the league. If the Warriors are to win, it will be on the back of a huge performance from Johnson who will be looking to outplay Kangaroos halfback Cooper Cronk before the Anzac test.
Wing/Fullback
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ($9,350)
Tuivasa-Sheck has taken his game to another level this season, scoring over 45 points in every match he’s been fully fit for. His ability to bust tackles and produce line breaking runs not only makes him one of the most damaging custodians in the league, but it also ensures that he produces quality Draftstars scoring. At under $10k he also presents great value considering his consistently good scoring.
Billy Slater ($7,600)
After missing the majority of the last couple of seasons, Slater has begun to look like his old self in recent weeks and was especially brilliant last week against Manly. His three line break and try assists in the first half were part of a phenomenal performance that saw him display the energy and decision making that were his trademark. As a player who always steps up for big games, there is no doubt that Billy the Kid will want to produce a vintage performance on Anzac Day.
